I am spread out online. Really. Forums, social sites, things like Flickr, it’s crazy. Sure it’s not hard to give anyone my info for one or more of them, but I realized it would be easier to have one place, one simple domain, with links to where you can find me pretty much anywhere online.
So hi! Here I am. You may have met me online or in person under another name (Katie, k8et, HunnyBear, KrazyKate, Hennafairy, um I think that’s about it…)
My email is k8et1120 (at) gmail.com (You know what to do.)
Here are links to some of my online “homes” –
Tribe.net (mostly Burning Man and Fire art discussions)
Facebook I’ll pretty much only add you if we’ve met in person! No offense. But there’s too much real world info in there.
Twitter – I keep it private after I got an ad in reply to a tweet. Facebook is my living room where I entertain all kinds of friends and lots of family are there. Twitter? That’s when we go for a private walk out back with a drink, swear up a storm, and share all the juicy stuff. If I’d do that in real life with you, I’ll approve your follow request.
I’m on a bunch of random forums and things, from Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab (BPAL), to fire spinning (Home of Poi, Do More Poi), on LJ only for BPAL communities, a vegetarian message board, some henna art forums, and some musician/band forums (mainly Charlotte Martin)… If we have any of the same interests, just holler and I’m happy to share my info for those, or enable you to some amazing perfume or cool music! My participation in the various places varies depending on time/mood. The links I gave you above or the email address are the best ways to reach me.
This wasn’t intended to meet new people but more as a way to keep in touch with people I already know, but if you’re gonna ask, then…
I live somewhere in NJ. 35 years of age, living with my husband Random and our two kitties (Josephine and Stevie). I have a job in engineering. It’s not my passion but it helps pay the bills. I have many hobbies, and they are usually expensive ones… I get intrigued by new things and want to learn how to do it – then I move on to something else. Past ones include horseback riding, jewelry, knitting, all kinds of crafts, henna body art, and more I can’t think of right now. Still playing a little with poi (fire spinning) and hooping. Trying to learn more about digital photography.
I’ve been to Burning Man (BM) four times. Weekends I can be anywhere from catching up on sleep, out drinking with friends, spinning fire (BEFORE the drinking) with burner friends, camping at a regional burn event Playa Del Fuego (PDF) or fire arts weekend (Wildfire), road trips to anywhere from Boston/Salem to Philly to DC, partying in Philly with the Philadelphia Experiment (PEX), dressing up in a crazy costumes and being seen in public (Santacon, Coney Island Mermaid Parade), seeing some live music in NY… I love trying new things and going different places! Love music, reading, movies….
At Playa Del Fuego (PDF) in Spring 2008, I met a Random guy. We’ve fallen hard for each other and we are both in each others lives to stay. At Burning Man 2008, we even had a “playa” marriage, for the duration of our time on the playa (dry lakebed where it’s held). (Technically it was also until the novelty, alcohol, or drugs wear off in addition. None of which applied as we were sober and enjoyed every moment of our married time together. ;o) In fall 2010, we got hitched for realz! 😀
Very easy going and open to a wide variety of things. Despite being optimistic and spiritual I stress way too easily over stupid things and overpack like crazy. I’m very generous with friends and strangers but hate being taken advantage of, and I despise dishonesty and manipulation. I love people who are true to themselves and let their freak (or un-freak) flag fly, while accepting others for who they are and not what they wear or how “successful” they are. I can be a bit gullible at times, cause I am a romantic and tend to believe the best in people. It takes a lot to really truly make me angry, but once you do, you are usually out of my life forever. I’m vegetarian, a very eclectic pagany type person, way too addicted to the internet (duh), a Scorpio, a reiki master, a seeker, a traveler, a sister, a friend, a lover, a burner, a human……
This is my living faith, an active faith, a faith of verbs: to question, explore, experiment, experience, walk, run, dance, play, eat, love, learn, dare, taste, touch, smell, listen, argue, speak, write, read, draw, provoke, emote, scream, sin, repent, cry, kneel, pray, bow, rise, stand, look, laugh, cajole, create, confront, confound, walk back, walk forward, circle, hide, and seek. To seek: to embrace the questions, be wary of answers. ~Terry Tempest Williams
Found you while looking for more info on santacon this weekend. I’m trying to figure out exactly what my plans are, and it’s always good to know more people in the the know. Drop me a line if you get a chance.
Bill
Bill – Hey! Have we met?
I am not “in the know” any more than anyone else participating… Check the NY santacon site 10 pm friday for instructions on where to meet!
You are welcome to follow my twitter in case I am there before you, but I can’t promise anything regular in the way of updates, and have no way of knowing where we are heading, only can post when we stop somewhere.
I did something similar to Bill…i stumbled upon your blog after doing a websearch for burning man-related events in Philadelphia. I’m moving there in February from NYC and was looking for events similar to the ones i’ve been attending in NYC over the past few years. I know of PEX, but do you know of any others? I’m more than happy to ‘event-swap’ with you, as i noticed you come through new york every now and then!
P.S.
i LOVE your Alice costume! I do quite a bit of costume sewing myself.
Tash – sorry for not getting back to you sooner, I have no contact information for you… Feel free to send me an email! I don’t know of many other events except what PEX throws though!
Just wanted to reach out and say hi! I know we travel in the same Internet circles, so it’s nice to connect. Good luck and wishing you much peace & prosperity. xxxx
Just wanted to tell you that I love you more than my pink polka dot luggage.
But you already knew that 😉

Heyas,
I saw a comment you left over on OffBeat Bride about knowing a bunch of fire performers. I’d be very interested in contacting them – not for a wedding, specifically, but for a whole bunch of events I’m coordinating. Thanks!
